Pediatric Emergency Room at Holtz Children’s Hospital
The pediatric emergency room at Holtz Children’s Hospital will be newly constructed and expanded, increasing in size to 24 beds. This full-service emergency room will include comfortable treatment areas for children and their parents, access to full diagnostics, and the highest level of compassionate, expert care.

Phase two: Expanding capacity and specialized care
- 30 pediatric emergency rooms, including an autism-friendly treatment room, two resuscitation rooms, five triage rooms, and a dedicated casting room
- 61 additional adult rooms
- Dedicated behavioral health bays — 17 spaces designed for privacy and safety
Phase three: Elevating emergency care even higher
- New third floor, with additional clinical space to grow with Miami’s needs
- Expanded helipad access for rapid transfers and life-saving arrivals
