MISSION
JACKSON HEALTH FOUNDATION is the private fundraising arm of Jackson Health System (JHS), the most comprehensive healthcare provider in South Florida. Established in 1991, the Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors committed to philanthropic activities that benefit the medical programs and services at JHS. Through the generosity of compassionate donors, the Foundation helps to fill the gaps of major capital projects and programmatic needs that cannot be financed by public bond support.

VISION
The vision of the Jackson Health Foundation is to provide Jackson Health System with the support and resources to excel as a world-class academic medical system.
CORE VALUES
The Jackson Health Foundation works in conjunction with the Jackson Health System, a worldclass medical institution, by embracing our core values:

  • Transparent
  • Integrity
  • Committed
  • Dedicated
  • Passionate
  • Innovative
  • Respect
  • Process Driven
  • Mission Focused

The Foundation is governed by a volunteer member Board of Directors representing many segments of the community. Each member is committed to philanthropic activities that benefit Jackson Health System.

The Foundation’s Co Presidents report to the Board and supervises a staff of development professionals, who follow standards set by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Operating and administrative expenses are approved each year during the budgeting process. No employee receives compensation based on the amount of money raised.

Although Jackson receives substantial tax funds, they are not enough to address the rising cost of providing state-of-the art facilities, innovative technology and equipment, and health care coverage all residents.

The Foundation’s fundraising efforts allow Jackson Health System to provide life-saving medical care to those in financial need, improve health care delivery, enhance the hospital experience for patients, and promote wellness and preventive medicine.

No gift is too small or too large. The Foundation’s work is made possible through the generosity of our donors and in particular members of our giving societies. Stock, real estate and other tangible assets, as well as in-kind gifts, are also accepted and valued accordingly. Donors also give planned gifts such as a simple bequest or charitable trust.

Donors may support any project, physician or program of their choice. The Foundation primarily supports causes and projects selected by Jackson Health System and approved by the Public Health Trust.

However, the Foundation also creates projects tailored to a donor’s specific needs. These projects will be approved only if they advance the mission, priorities and needs of Jackson Health System.

The Foundation is an approved IRS 501(c) (3) charity. All donations are tax-deductible minus any benefits received. The Jackson Health Foundation Federal Tax ID is 65-00077727, and the State of Florida registration number is CH3 l 78.
